Welcome to Real Estate ReFreshed + ReStyled!

Welcome to ReFreshed + ReStyled, the blog for homeowners wanting to renew their home for selling, without spending a fortune.  I’m Connie Waring, licensed Realtor® and Certified Stager in the Minneapolis area, and I’m glad you’re here.

If you’re looking for insight on where to begin preparing your home for sale, you might be wondering why you need to do anything beyond basic cleaning and organizing. My 86-year-old mother once told me she thought it was silly that Sellers need to change anything in their house “just for Buyers,” and I believe it was followed by a comment about them not being smart enough to figure out what the house “could” look like. Let’s just say my mom still has her laminate kitchen floor with orange and gold medallions from the 1970s, and for her, that works just fine, and I kind of like the memories it brings back every time I’m home!

I can’t believe I found a photo online with the same kitchen floor as Mom’s!

In an ideal world, we could simply leave our homes the way we always live in them, list them for sale, and have them sell quickly for top dollar. I can tell you after being in the real estate business since 1998, that is unfortunately not the case. Although I am a certified stager, I prefer a home with a warm approachable feel, not a staged look, so I always make an effort to use as many items currently in the owner’s home. Many times I find a great piece of furniture, artwork, pillows, or accessories, that are the inspiration for the process I call Refreshed + ReStyled, a budget-friendly method of home-selling preparation.

We Love Helping Sellers with Home Transformations.

I never tire of seeing the transformation of sellers’ houses, after just a bit of restyling. It is simply rewarding! After working with many sellers on home selling preparation, I can’t tell you how many times I have heard, “It looks so nice; I don’t want to move!” I’m always thrilled to see how happy my sellers are to see their home transformed, and I want to share some of the tips and secrets I’ve learned over the years, so you can put them to use in preparing your own home for sale.

Home Preparation Style Tips.

Styles change frequently and it becomes unaffordable to constantly change with every trend, especially when selling. However, making small well-planned and inexpensive changes can have a powerful impact on the overall look of your home. If you are looking for a quick “ReFresh,” whether you’re selling or staying in your home, and are interested in learning about current buyer trends, how to freshen up your home on a budget, which rooms are most important to buyers, design tips, resources and more, this blog is for you. I ‘m excited to share some of my favorite paint colors, finishes, flooring, lighting and more. I’ll be showcasing some small “before and after” ReStyled rooms, which I hope you’ll enjoy and will provide inspiration!
